About Me

My name is Marilyn Dunning, and I am the owner of Doggie Doos Mobile Grooming Doggie Doos Start up and Consulting as well as, Doggie Doos Grooming Training Program.

I’ve spent my life doing what I love—working with animals and helping people learn how to care for them the right wayWith over 42 years of professional dog grooming experience, 37 years of animal related business ownership, 30 years as a dog trainer and 9+ years of teaching, I’ve seen just about everything. But more importantly, I’ve learned that great grooming isn’t just about how a dog looks—it’s about their comfort, safety, and trust throughout the entire process.

❤️ Why I Teach

Teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

I especially love working with people who truly care about animals—whether they’re starting a new career, changing paths, or finally doing something they’ve always dreamed about.

There’s nothing better than watching someone go from nervous and unsure to confident and capable.

✂️ My Approach to Grooming

I believe grooming should always be:

  • Safe
  • Ethical
  • Patient
  • Compassionate

Dogs are not just pets—they’re family. And they deserve to be treated with kindness and respect every step of the way.

That’s exactly what I teach.

🎓 Why I Created This Program

After decades in the industry, I saw a gap.

Too many grooming programs were:

  • Rushed
  • Overcrowded
  • Focused more on speed than safety

Or they expected students to figure things out on their own without real guidance, have you watch a few videos and send you a piece of paper in the mail.  That does NOT make you a groomer!

So, I created something different.

The Doggie Doos Grooming Training Program is designed to give students:

  • A strong foundation
  • Hands-on, real-world skills
  • One-on-one guidance
  • The confidence to succeed—without pressure

🐶 Real Experience. Real Skills.

This isn’t just theory.

My goal is to make sure every student understands:

  • How to safely handle dogs
  • How to read behavior and body language
  • How to groom with care—not force
  • And how to build trust with every dog they work with

Because in this industry, how you treat the dog matters just as much as the final groom.

🌟 My Mission

To help people build a career they’re proud of—while raising the standard of care in the grooming industry and helping them do it in an affordable way and the comfort of their own home and community!

I have been a dog trainer for over 30 years and a professional dog groomer for more than 42 years. Over the years, that experience has given me not only strong technical skills, but also a deep understanding of canine behavior, handling, and the patience this profession truly requires.

In the early 2000s, I owned and operated a non-profit rescue in Georgia, where we successfully rescued and adopted out 88 animals. Animal welfare has always been more than a job for me—it’s a lifelong commitment.

I’m also a dog mom many times over. I share my home with rescue dogs and cats who are my children just as much as my boys are—arguably better, since they don’t talk back and love me unconditionally (which is exactly how I love them).

I am the sole instructor for this program, which means you will work one-on-one with me throughout your education. I believe personal instruction makes a real difference. I will guide you step by step, teach you the skills you need, observe your progress, and support you as you grow in confidence and ability.
My goal is to help you become not just a dog groomer—but a skilled, compassionate, and ethical professional who always puts the well-being of the dog first.
I look forward to partnering with you on your dog grooming journey.  If you're ready or not sure if you're ready,  fill out the Student Interest form and  we will reach out to you.
